Mission Statement

Greater Rochester Repertory Companies (GRRC) was founded in 1996 to provide an environment for actors, musicians and all theater practitioners to teach and learn, also giving a voice and venue to local and regional authors.

More About Greater Rochester Repertory Companies

GRRC is very fortunate to be home to many fine directors, actors, technicians and supporters. Original works have included our first production Pocahontas: An Algonquin Princess. Following our inaugural production, we have presented such original works as I’ll Be Seeing You, Life Upon the Wicked Stage, Time Will Tell, We’re Still Here, Couples, Almighty God Bierce, Portraits, and Ping. Decentralization grants were received for Time Will Tell and Portraits.

GRRC's productions of Queen of Bingo, Save Me a Place at Forest Lawn and True West were selected to perform at TANYS (Theater Association of New York State) Festival. True West won several acting awards at TANYS Festival 2009 along with numerous awards for Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap.

GRRC has also presented True West, Oscar Remembered, Love Letters, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Ping, Arsenic and Old Lace and Bermuda Avenue Triangle at MuCCC located at 142 Atlantic Avenue in the Neighborhood of the Arts in Rochester, NY.

TANYS, The Theatre Association of New York State

 

Greater Rochester Repertory Companies is a member of TANYS, the Theatre Association of New York State.

TANYS is the primary voice of academic and community theatre in New York State. TANYS nurtures and supports the growth in all aspects of the craft of theatre. The Association offers trained adjudication services to member companies, sponsors the State Theatre Festival and conducts workshops at various locations throughout the year.

 
American Association of Community Theatre Greater Rochester Repertory Companies is a member of AACT, the American Association of Community Theatre.

The American Association of Community Theatre provides networking, resources and support to suit the needs of all those involved in community theatre.
